Michael was raised in a secluded cabin hidden deep in the Appellation Mountains. His father was a low-level telepath who couldn’t keep the voices of others from intruding on his thoughts. This and his loss of faith in the values of modern society led him to take his wife and five children and raise them away from the corrupt and morally bankrupt culture that he could no longer hope to change.

On April 18th 1994, Michael’s father and younger sister abruptly died. He and the rest of his family buried the bodies, and the next day Michael flew away from the only home he’d ever known, setting out on his own to follow in the footsteps of his Grandfather - the Guardian Angel, whose costume and weapons he had taken as his own.

He eventually found himself in Madison City, Pennsylvania. Homeless and alone, he slept in abandon buildings, alleyways, and ate at soup ketches when he could. At the same time he taught himself to fight and protect the streets of the city, using raw natural skill and his Grandfather’s weapons.

Never knowing anyone but his family, Michael lived a reclusive life when he wasn’t patrolling the streets of Madison by air. Eventually the rumors and sightings of a new Guardian Angel spread - and when Telepath went looking for people to populate her new team she was constructing, Michael was one of the first she sought out. He readily agreed, anxious for company and friendship, and prepared for his first experience with people his age who weren’t his relatives.

Michael is slowly but surly getting to know his new teammates and learning the social skills that his sheltered childhood never taught him. It can be strange, but he seems to share a kinship with Telepath, and her friendship has helped this shy young man immensely. This team is a very new, very different, and very surprising experience, but after a lifetime spent hidden from the world, any change is good change.
