Uniques #2 Preview

As we promised, me and Adam are posting artwork here on the forums for issue 2 that you'll see nowhere else! We just want to make this place special, you know?

This one is of Telepath making her pitch to the other teen heroes to try and persuade them to join the team she is starting. At the moment, only my part of the color has been finished and it's awaiting Adam's background colors. So this is what a page might look like when I finish and send it to him - you can see the lighting has been set up, the color schemes have been determined, and the foreground characters have been toned. I also slid in that nice cloud background because I've got a few cloudy shots from the last issue and other color work of mine that can be cut togeter and spliced in for a nice, pretty sky. It makes it look fancy without tons of extra work!



Now all that’s left is Adam's background tone and some texturing and we’ll be finished with this one. And the best part about this is that there are another six more pages I've finished and another four are being finished today! Hooray progress!

I dare say that the pages I've seen of Uniques #2 look even more amazing than Uniques #1. Everything just keeps getting better and better.

If enough people stop by the site and buy the issues... trust me, they could knock one out every month. It's all that other wonderful freelance and teaching etc that slows things down abit. (but even with that, they should come pretty close, I bet.)

I saw "inks" on a Non-Uniques related DC Universe character(s) commission that Adam was working on last night and whoever has that coming should be very happy-- I bet-- once they can show it.

Meanwhile Comfort finished off another Uniques page.

I'm wondering when those two really take off, if I can get anything on eBay for my couch.

Whats Grand Rapids like? Sounds quite nice...

I don't know about monthly right away - we're still trying to get the hang of this stuff. But who knows, maybe someday. And if Chris could sell of his couch someday like they did for the Daily Show's I would be delighted beyond words.

And Grand Rapids is quite nice. The area we live in has all our essential shopping areas right down the street and we also have a long and winding bike and walking trail that connects to our apartment community. If you like the 'night life' this place may not be for you. But if you're the 'quiet sit at your home and draw' type person like me and Adam are it's awesome!

Grand Rapids is nice, I lie a 1/2 hour away from Adam and Comf but the area is still nice. Downtown has a pretty descent night life. There is usually something to do every night, especially if you like local music., not that I really do much socially...

I think we're really aiming for a bi-mothly schedule. For us to get an issue out every month isn't really feasible, considering our schedule, and we're only as far along on #2 as we are because we were working on it while finishing the website, so by the time the first issue was released we were already well ahead on production.

So look for it to settle into an every-other-month schedule. Not as fast as some books (I'm looking at you, 18-books-per-year Ultimate Spider-Man!) but you'll get the same level of quality and a supremely reliable rate of release. Better to release a little slower but always on schedule than push for speed and miss tons of deadlines.
